Up until now you may have viewed history as old stories in a dusty book, but as we explore our more modern history, you will see how the past 50 years have shaped the country you now know today. The events you will learn about in this unit are so recent that you might have already heard of them or have family members that saw them unfold. You will learn about how the nation changed through the rise of terrorism, pulled together after the tragic events of 9/11, recovered after natural disasters and even some accidental disasters, advanced in technology, and even now continues to write its story with the turning of each page and the passing of each day. The history of tomorrow has only begun to be written, and you get to be a part of the story.
Toward the end of each lesson of the Teacher’s Guide, you will learn a new study tip—such as knowing how you learn, taking notes, reading for context, discerning what is true, and much more! You can cut out your daily tips and pin them onto a board, piece of paper, or folder to build your study reference guide!
Twice each week, you will be the author of your own history book by documenting current events that have happened in your family, community, state, country, and more. These stories can be put together at the end of the unit to create your very own History of Tomorrow book. You will also be studying vocabulary each day to help you understand the lessons even more.
As you reflect on the recent past, may you see strength among the tragedy, growth among the change, and hope for an even better tomorrow. And more than anything, may you see God’s fingerprints on display—even through the hard things—because no matter how dark it looks, God is always there.

How does it work?
Our mini units are 20 lessons long and designed to go along with and/or supplement our main units. They are not as in-depth or as large as our main units, with only 2 pages in each student book per lesson instead of 5. Our mini units are designed to be more targeted and focused rather than broad and far-reaching.
Upon purchase, you will get an email that includes your links to your digital downloads. We recommend downloading them and saving them to your computer, then printing them out (or casting them to your TV).
