Take a journey through Alberta with our 10-lesson mini unit! Designed for geography and social studies, this adventure encourages students to compare Alberta's history, topography, industry, economy, and politics with their own region, no matter where they live. Each lesson offers insights into Alberta's rich history, stunning landscapes, unique flora and fauna, key industries, and remarkable individuals who shaped its identity.
The student books feature two pages per day, making it easy to fit into whatever you are currently doing. Students will create a timeline of Alberta's history and choose a project, like a tourist brochure or a website, to showcase the province's attractions and history. Daily prompts will guide students in adding information that involves critical thinking and global awareness from the lessons to their projects.
Join us in Wild Rose Country, and gain a deeper appreciation for its past, present, and future. This unit is not just about Alberta; it's about understanding our world and how different regions connect and influence one another. Dive into Alberta's story and discover how it relates to your own life and community!
What to buy? You will need to purchase a physical workbook for each child as well as a Teacher's Guide for yourself. The Teacher's Guides contain all the actual teaching, they are not just for answers, so they are critical to your lessons. Printed books are printed on 32lb. paper and are shipped to you coil bound.
