We are always looking forward to the future and excited about what is yet to come in this company, and we know you are, too! Take a look at some of our upcoming projects to help you plan your year.
Math: You asked, we heard you. Yes, we are officially doing math. This is a huge project. We are releasing a unique, never-before-tried math approach that will allow you to create your own spiral math curriculum to suit your child, to catch them up as a remedial solution, or to build a mastery approach to really drive the point home. This will be simple and open-and-go. It will not have a Teacher's Guide or require any manipulatives. This will be a full K-grade 8 math solution that (at least for now) will be offered in print only. We will be having beta testers for this, who will get the curriculum early and for a discount in exchange for giving feedback on the units. Get on the list to hear more about the beta testing membership this fall here or stay tuned for our first unit that we hope will be released to the general public toward the end of 2024!
Year 1, Part 2? We are redoing some of our first units to bring them up to "code" with our current standards and styles. This is not an edit of the previous unit, but a brand new rewrite with brand new topics. Our first one is North American Birds. Part II will have 20 new birds (and a small highlight on 2 of the previous ones that we just couldn't leave out). We will also be releasing seatwork with this new version. After North American birds, we plan to focus on Oceans and then Space. Some have asked if you purchased the first North American Birds if you will automatically get the second one for free. The answer is no. This is not a revision, we have put our whole team on this and started from scratch. You can see we have a new style, there is a new table of contents, and all new lessons. This is a brand new unit, but on a topic that many of you know and love! We hope to do a new Human Body unit, changing Earth Science to be focused just on weather (as we already have individual earth science units for geology and space), and Part 2 of Africa, Asia, and South America with all new countries!
What About New Units? Some of you want to know what new units are coming: out with the old, in with the new! We hope to release a few new things this coming year (2024/2025) including: a 2 day elections mini, a new Christmas unit, and a new Bible study. I have a lot more dreams on my list, but I'm going to start there and reserve a few things after I see what we get to.
Online Courses: We are hoping to try out a few online courses this year where you will be able to see Rebecca teach the course to a group of students and feel like you are a part of the classroom. This isn't 100%, but if we can swing it, the first one we would do would be Living off the Land. Let us know what you think by emailing us at support@gatherroundhomeschool.com.
I would love your help getting the word out! Use #gatherroundhomeschool or #gatherroundfamily or tag me @gatherroundhomeschool and I might re-share your post!
