The Gather 'Round Online Academy is designed to be additional support, motivation, accountability, and community for families who are struggling to find it where they live. It is also designed to be affordable for families of all sizes—saving you gas, time, and money all while helping you be more consistent in your homeschool. You can choose the level of support you are looking for with our monthly subscription options. This monthly subscription will be self-managed by you: join or cancel anytime. Please note that many units will take longer than a month to complete so you'll want to plan with the schedule and might need two months to complete unit with breaks. One subscription can be used by the whole family and videos will be accessible either on your computer or mobile device. The teacher will complete the lesson with students and go over the student page expectations and make sure there is a clear understanding of all assignments. Students will then be assigned their student pages as homework. It is up to you whether they complete those or not. Our goal is to make this as flexible and adaptable as possible so that families can choose the level of support they feel they need. All members will get one email invite to a private space in our app where they can share their pages, connect with other students, and even choose to do additional challenges related to the content (such as a book club, science "fair", etc.). If you haven't been able to find community, let's build it together!

After much debate (and after discussing it with a number of students), we have decided to make the academy LIVE. This will allow more interaction during the lesson and add a bit of motivation and inspiration.
The live lessons will be at the same time each day, no matter which frequency plan you choose. Class will start at 10am EST and go to about 11am EST daily.
Classes will be recorded and the replays will be posted so you never have to worry about missing out! While it might not be quite as fun as live, your students can watch at any time that works for you!
At this point, Rebecca Spooner, the creator of Gather 'Round, will be teaching the lessons. We aren't sure how long that will last, but Rebecca felt it might be helpful to help kick the program off and give some context for how she envisions it could look.
Yes, you can pause or cancel and resume at anytime. The reason we went with a subscription model is that it gives you the ultimate flexibility.
Because our units are 5 weeks long (not 4) and because of school breaks through the year, you will generally need to subscribe for 2 months in order to complete a full unit. We chose a subscription to keep you in control of your schedule and budget.
The live video includes teaching from the Teacher's Guide and an overview of the student pages. Students complete those pages as homework and can share work in our private community.
Each subscription gets access to a private community in our free app. Replays are posted after processing. You can watch on any device.
