    DESCRIPTION

We are so excited to offer our Modular Math program as a beta tester subscription for a limited time only! This product is a subscription product that can be cancelled at any time and renews every 8 weeks—giving us time to stay well ahead of you as we write and create these units. Our beta testers will get the units sooner than everyone else at a discounted price in exchange for sharing feedback on a form at the end of the month, sharing pictures that we can use, and helping us get the word out.

How it works: You will purchase one product for each student based on the level that best fits them. You can adjust these levels unit-by-unit depending on your student's strengths and weaknesses. Your subscription is entirely self managed and will be automatically charged and shipped every 8 weeks starting on October 20th, 2024. You will have two weeks notice to take the placement test and make any changes to your subscription (such as levels or your address). Once the subscription has been charged it is in production and changes are no longer possible.

*Please note, while you can cancel at any time, this product will no longer be available after October 20th so you will be unable to sign up again after cancelling.

What it is: Modular Math is a brand new math program that will be available to the general public in January 2025. This curriculum covers Kindergarten through Grade 8 in a unique format that can be completely tailored to your child. It is available in print only, but we will have remedial packs that can be purchased in digital form, allowing you to fill in any gaps to help move your student forward, even while waiting for your printed materials to come. Each unit is magazine style: printed as a stapled booklet so that it is not overwhelming to your student. It contains 10 modules which are focused on 10 key concepts that should be mastered for that particular level. Each concept is focused on for two days. On the first day, the concept is introduced and practiced, and a Bible connection is made. The second day is more of a spiral/review of both this concept and others that have been taught. If your student needs additional practice, the remedial packs have another practice page on the topic that you can add to keep working in that area. Each unit, then, lasts 20 lessons—making it the perfect addition to your Gather 'Round units!

How do I place my child? There are seven "steps" in this program, and grades are specifically not used to allow you to place your student where best suits them. For our first unit (Number Sense), Foundations is equivalent to a Kindergarten level. Step 1 to Grade 1 (and so forth to step 4). Step 5 is equivalent to grade 5/6 and Step 6 is equivalent to grade 7/8. These grade equivalencies may shift depending on the topic. For example, Algebra will not be a unit that has much for Kindergarten, so Foundations may be more of a grade 1/2 equivalent. That means that your student may or may not need to take all 13 units depending on where they are at. The 13 units we are creating are (order may change):

    1. Number Sense
    2. Addition
    3. Subtraction
    4. Measurement
    5. Money
    6. Geometry
    7. Multiplication
    8. Division
    9. Fractions
    10. Decimals
    11. Percents
    12. Algebra
    13. Statistics + Analysis

These will be released at a rate of one every 8 weeks as we are writing them as we go. We will take feedback from our beta testers and apply that to our units before releasing them to the general public. This means that the entire program will take about 2 years to produce. However, it also gives parents an opportunity to use those two months to fill in gaps and catch students up as we go.

Check out the placement test for our first unit! Sometimes its easier just to see it. We encourage you to flip through the lesson samples and scopes in the images here, but we also have put together an interactive placement test to help you figure out where your student would be. You will want to watch your student as they take this quiz and write down any questions or concepts they struggle with. The basic idea behind these tests is that we are testing them on the previous step's ten modules. If they know these topics, they are ready for the current step (or maybe even a later one). 80% or higher is considered a pass. We recommend continuing to take the quizzes until they fall below this point. Only then can you find not just what they know, but what they do not know. You want to place them where they are confident and then you have the option of buying remedial packs (available October 15th) to cover any topics that were weak to get them ready if you want.
