Is this a Full Unit or Mini Unit? Psychology is a Full Unit. Our Full Units are 20 lessons long and designed to take 4-6 weeks to complete. The Student Notebooks from Early Reader and up have 5 pages per day and are designed to cover all your subjects other than math. Mini Units are often shorter in length or in output and while they do have crossover into multiple subjects, they are more focused and intentional on the topic of the unit. They also tend to be more hands-on with less written output. Some families alternate Full Units with Mini Units while others do them alongside one another.
What is this unit about? Take every thought captive. How do you actually do that? In this unit, your entire family will be learning about your thoughts, feelings, emotions, reactions, behaviors, personality, and so much more. You will discover where these come from, what is true, and how to manage them from a Biblical perspective.
Intro to Psychology is so much more than how the brain works. It is a philosophy unit, a history unit, a science unit, an art unit, and a Bible unit. Daily devotionals, daily journaling prompts, a color coded Teacher's Guide for varying attention spans (for the first time ever), daily Language Arts creative writing assignments, and lots and lots of hands on fun! This is it. If you are new to Gather 'Round or can only do one, let this be the one. Let's give our kids strategies and tools for how to take ownership of why and how they act the way they do and begin to be intentional in our homes and relationships.

Don't miss our add on for this unit! Psychology Seatwork Books are available in DIGITAL or PRINT or check out our Seatwork sample below, a complete writing mechanics course with daily copywork, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary.
What should I buy? You will need to purchase a physical workbook for each child as well as a Teacher's Guide for yourself. The Teacher's Guides contain all the actual teaching, they are not just for answers, so they are critical to your lessons. Printed books are printed on 32lb. paper and are shipped to you coil bound.
How long are units designed to last? Each unit is designed to be 4-6 weeks. Our main units and most of our mini units include 20 lessons and can be done as a 4-day school week (lasting 5 weeks) or a 5-day school week (lasting 4 weeks) to offer flexibility. You're in control! Set a schedule that works best for your family and your pace will dictate how quickly you complete any given unit.
Check out the Resources! Most of our units have a free resource page on our free app. These have video links for each lesson, a way to track what you have done, as well as suggested reading lists, PDF downloads, and more! Click on the button a little further down to see what we have for this unit.
