Try a free one day sample of US History 6 Mini Unit!
US History 6 takes students from 1974 all the way through to 2022. Aptly named the History of Tomorrow, it leaves the dusty trails of history behind and starts to paint a picture of recent events that will give students context for real things happening in the nation today! The end of the Cold War, the trauma of 9/11, tragic oil spills, the rise of technology, controversial presidents and politics, and even the pandemic—we don't shy away from anything. Even if you haven't done our other US History units, this unit is a must-do. It will promote important discussions about real things that only just happened—giving students a picture of the economy, military, industry, culture, healthcare, and leadership of the United States of America. Throughout this unit, students will be recording their own history with real current events that are happening around them and sharing them at the end of the month. They will also have daily study tips including things like taking notes, reading for context, looking at both sides of the story, discernment, and so much more. God is woven throughout these pages as students see His hand even amidst terrible events. If you want to study something that really matters, take a minute to even just read this one aloud to your kids at the breakfast table. May this unit give you an opportunity to discuss some of the tragedies and hard things that have shaped this nation, while sharing a Biblical worldview that will forever impact the way we view it all. Lest we forget . . . let's take a moment to remember.
