This rich mini unit teaches about both the history of politics and how the government is set up, as well as how voting works. As a mini unit, it only has 2 student pages per day and focuses on an oral presentation to show what you know. Pre-reader students will make a mini book to present at the end of the unit, 6-10 year olds are creating their own country and government structure, and older students are choosing a debate topic. Students will make timelines, learn about the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and Amendments.
