Throughout this unit, you will learn all about different types of pets, such as dogs, cats, snakes, birds, horses, and more! You'll learn how to feed, train, and take care of each pet and see real-life pictures of several breeds of each animal. Color-coding for this unit is mostly yellow and appropriate for all ages; however, there are a few teal and purple sections that dive deeper into more specific care or hot-button topics.
Notebooking pages include plenty of space for notes, pet ratings, interesting facts, and daily drawings with step-by-step instructions. You will need a sketchbook, a separate sheet of paper, or you can snag the add-on sketchbook for this unit to do your drawings in. The second Student Book page for each day focuses on the work of veterinarians! You’ll learn about regular checkups, spaying and neutering, wing clipping, hoof trimming, and more! You’ll also get a closer look at the work of marine, exotic, zoo, emergency, and shelter veterinarians. Learn who they are, how they train, where they work, what animals they work with, and even what a day in the life looks like for vets of all specialties.
This unit is full of the most fun, exciting, and interesting pets we could find, and it is sure to pique the interest of animal lovers everywhere! Fair warning, though: it just might convince you to add a new furry or scaly member to the family!
What's Included? You can purchase a leveled bundle with one student notebook of your choice and the Teacher's Guide, or the full family bundle that includes all levels with the Teacher's Guide. If you have more than one child you are buying for, it is more economical to get the full bundle to re-use in the future with your kids at older levels. All digital bundles come as an instant download in PDF format for you to print at home.
How long are units designed to last? Each unit is designed to be 4-5 weeks. Our main units and most of our mini units include 20 lessons and can be done as a 4-day school week (lasting 5 weeks) or a 5-day school week (lasting 4 weeks) to offer flexibility. You're in control! Set a schedule that works best for your family and your pace will dictate how quickly you complete any given unit.
