Try a free one day sample of our Botany unit!
Welcome to Botany! Not only is this full unit absolutely beautiful, it is designed to go deep with purposeful connections to everyday life that make it meaningful. Your kids will be cooking and baking to connect the parts of the plants in nature with the foods that they eat. They will be labeling, making observations, recording, researching, and learning more about the incredible plant world and its impact on our lives.
The writing project for this unit is to create a Botany Book, in which they can make key observations and learn how to take notes. Each day has some cut outs for the younger students who might not be as into art, and there are many adaptations! We have also included an example on each page from the lesson to give visual inspiration for our more visual students. Finally, we have put together a Botany book of our own that you can purchase if you like our nature journal feel. (Check out our add on posters and Botany Book for this unit and don't forget to add in your cursive writing notebook focusing on spelling, copywork, and the fruit of the Spirit.)
Make your own flower press, learn about the effects of disappearing bees, how maple syrup is made, experiments, watch videos, look at beautiful illustrations and diagrams, and so much more! This is the unit so many of us have been waiting for, it's time for spring!
