If you have a child who is not yet fluently reading, you might have a difficult time working through our main units as you will have to help them with each page that they do. In this case, we recommend using or supplementing your student's phonics, reading, and writing skills with our learn to read program: Ready to Read. This program is divided into 4 books that are 9 weeks each (making a complete year). These books are staged so that you can start at your child's developmental needs. The first two books focus on three letter words, word families, and fluency (along with sight words) while the second two books focus on four letter words, digraphs, blending, and compound words. Skills progress from K through grade 1, leaving your child ready to read and tackle their student notebooks! Unlike our full units, the Ready to Read program covers all of your subjects including math. One of our best sellers, this program has successfully helped countless children learn to read OR cross that threshold from sounding out to fluency and confidence! Short lessons, easy to digest, and full with tons of hands on and engaging activities, your kids are going to love it! Don't miss the Expansion Pack with posters, calendar, stickers, Spooner bucks play money in cardstock form, and more manipulatives to add to your year!

How Do I Place My Kids?
If your child can identify the letters of the alphabet, say the sounds of each letter at least 80% of the time, count to 20, and can name numbers 1-10 and know what they represent, then they are ready for the first book in our Ready to Read program!
Sound Too Easy?
If your child is already reading three-letter words, we recommend waiting and starting with Book 2 or 3 of Ready to Read, which will be more advanced reading and help transition from early reading to grade 1 level reading so they are ready for the Early Reader level in our full units.
NOTE: This is available for purchase for up to 2 students. If you have more than 2 students, please send us an email to chat about group use or to explain your family use so we can get you set up!
