How it works

It’s time to rethink math with our brand new Modular Math complete curriculum for Kindergarten to grade 8 (with options up to grade 9 as well)! This is unlike anything else on the market and stands true to the Gather ‘Round style. Choose your topic and your level, open the workbook, and get started. It’s that simple! Each unit (or topic) is designed to be done in one month and includes 7 “steps” (we don’t use specific grades in order to leave flexibility for students). Coming this fall, we will begin releasing units in the proposed order below at the rate of one per month (every five weeks). We have an easy online placement test you can take and you can finally custom-tailor a math program to suit your child’s needs! Check out some of the exciting features of our Modular Math curriculum:

  • Use as a full year math program, a remedial catch-up, or a program to get ahead.
  • Complete one unit per month and just two workbook pages per day (though motivated students might move faster).
  • Optional digital skill builders with three pages of extra practice that can be used to help fill in gaps so your student can move forward or give additional practice on topics that aren't fully being grasped.
  • Beautiful, minimalistic, and simple magazine style prevents students from being overwhelmed.
  • No huge teacher’s manual or answer key. All teaching is written to the student and can be found right in the workbook! Answer keys are available to download digitally.
  • With custom-made placement tests and seven workbook levels, you are sure to find just the right one for your student.
  • All workbook pages feature our signature grid, so students can practice keeping their work organized and lined up correctly.
  • Math comes alive with plenty of real-life scenarios and personal applications.
  • Every lesson points to Jesus and includes a Bible Break that relates to the concept being taught.

Placement

Let's face it, this approach is flexible but that can make placement a little bit daunting as you try to wrap your head around how it all works. Let's talk about generalities first to give you a point of reference. Generally speaking, the levels are designed to coincide with learning outcomes as shown below. However, with 13 units and each taking about a month or more, this is obviously more than a year program. We've put together some suggested plans per grade that make sure units are equally split between each level. This is just a starting point to give you a frame of reference. Each unit will have its own placement test that you can take to place your child, and most families will build their 10 units for the year (or 12 if you don't break for summer) based on their student's needs and skill level.
