Build real confidence reading music with our Music Theory program (Levels 1–2). This two-level course gently moves students from the basics into stronger skills, with clear explanations and plenty of practice—perfect for any instrument and especially helpful for Upper Elementary+ learners ready to grow.
Music Theory for the Music unit comes in two levels so you can start right where your student is.
Music Theory Level 1 is an 18-lesson program designed for students with little to no musical experience. It introduces foundational concepts like tempo, notes, time signatures, dynamics, rests, bars, and more. No matter what instrument your student plays (or hopes to play), this is a great place to start building confidence in reading music.
Music Theory Level 2 is a 20-lesson program designed for students with at least some musical experience or ready for a bit more of a challenge (Upper Elementary +). It goes deeper into keys, notes, and scales, and includes regular review.
This listing is a digital product. Your PDFs will be available in your account within a few minutes after purchase. You will need to print the pages at home. Printing at home can get expensive, so if you’d rather save time (and often money), grab the printed book and we’ll print and ship it to you.
We are also working on an online course to go along with this for students who need more visual help—stay tuned on the Gather ’Round Community app for details!
What should I buy? Choose the level that fits your student. If you have multiple students, you will need to purchase multiple books.
