Our adventure through the provinces takes us into Western Canada, where fields of wheat and living skies characterize a region of endless possibility and horizons. Journey through wide-open plains, rolling hills, and thousands of lakes, all the way up to the Taiga Shield. We will tunnel through Moose Jaw, pass through the capital city of Regina, and study the wide variety of wildlife in Prince Albert National Park. As we travel, we will learn about the First Nations, the fur trade, and how the resources both above and below ground changed Saskatchewan’s economy for good. We will also look at the land that is home to the sunniest spot in Canada and host to many long, hard winters. Take a closer peek at the provincial symbols, like the western red lily, the sharp-tailed grouse, and the paper birch tree. Then learn more about the life and accomplishments of Saskatchewanian Tommy Douglas. Student Book activities include mapping, lesson summaries, a study of vitamin D, fertilizers, pemmican, what the Bible says about materialism, and more.

The unit is designed to cover all your subjects (math available separately).
