Our lapbook add-on for Chemistry is an optional extension for families who love hands-on learning! A lapbook is a folder filled with mini books, flaps, and fold-outs that students cut, fold, and glue into place. It’s notebooking in a hands-on way, and students add to it as they work through the unit.
Please note that the lapbook is not required. The lapbook content is built into the notebooking pages already, and we have the same information (and sometimes more) on those pages—so students can do notebooking and/or complete the lapbook.
This listing is for the printed Lapbook materials, printed and shipped to you.
What should I buy? You can choose individual packs (Instruction Book, Level 1, or Level 2) or select the bundle that includes everything.
Print details: The printed version includes everything you need in printed format, including black folders and brass fasteners, an instruction guide and answer key, and cutouts in your choice of Level 1 or Level 2. It also includes digital cutouts delivered to your account as a downloadable PDF in case you make a mistake and need to reprint something.
Levels: Level 1 is recommended for all ages and is as simple as cutting, pasting, and folding. Level 2 is recommended for older students (middle school and high school) and features blank spaces for note-taking, creating a timeline, and more.
What else do I need? You will need the Chemistry Teacher’s Guide to accompany this lapbook, plus glue or glue dots and scissors. This add-on involves a lot of cutting and pasting, so we recommend pre-cutting before lessons and even working on one lapbook together as a family.
