Welcome to Louisiana

We're headed down to the bayou! This unit takes you on a tour of the TOBASCO factory, New Orleans, and Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge, as well as introducing a few of the coolest state symbols, like the mudbug and the Catahoula leopard dog. Learn about the agriculture, aquaculture, energy, and transportation industries that are so important to Louisiana, and complete student book activities such as mapping, lesson summaries, levees, Hurricane Katrina, animal communication, and Mardi Gras.
